Project Update: 601 S West End Street – Aspen, CO
June 25, 2026
Over the past several weeks, crews have continued making strong progress to keep the project on schedule. The demolition phase has been successfully completed, allowing crews to transition into the exterior finish work. Significant progress has been made with the removal of the remaining existing stucco and the installation of the new stucco system. New architectural metal elements, including steel railings and vertical battens, have been installed, enhancing both the appearance and functionality of the building. In addition, the building has been painted, electrical upgrades have been completed, and new radon mitigation fans have been installed. Crews will continue working toward completion of the remaining exterior finishes and project items.
Work to be Completed in the Coming Weeks
Over the next several weeks, crews will continue making progress on the project's exterior improvements. Work will include installation of the new siding system, completion of the remaining electrical work, and final installation of the steel railings. Masonry work will continue on the new accent features at the base of the building, while renovations to the stairwells will also continue. These activities will move the project closer to completion while maintaining the overall construction schedule.
Community & Site Commitment
The project team remains committed to maintaining a clean and orderly job site, both within and outside the construction fencing, to minimize impact on the surrounding neighborhood—including the adjacent parking areas along S West End Street.
Safety remains our top priority. Aspen Valley Construction strongly emphasizes the importance of keeping a safe distance from the site. 601 S West End Street is an active construction zone, and we ask all residents and visitors to stay clear of the fencing to ensure their safety.
Resident Communication Notice
We kindly ask that all project-related questions, comments, or concerns be directed to The Midland Condominium HOA. Patrick McGarry & Aspen Valley Construction should only be contacted in the event of a site emergency requiring immediate attention.
It has come to our attention that members of our construction crews have been approached directly by residents regarding the project. While we understand residents may have questions, our field personnel are focused on performing their work safely and efficiently and are not authorized to discuss project details or address resident concerns. These interactions have also created an environment where some crew members feel uncomfortable on the jobsite. We respectfully request that residents refrain from approaching construction personnel and instead direct all communications through the HOA. This will help ensure questions are addressed appropriately while allowing our crews to continue their work safely and efficiently.
